So, what exactly is 14ct gold filled jewellery?
With 14ct gold filled jewellery, a thick layer of 14ct gold is mechanically bonded to an inner core or base layer. The gold layer generally counts for 1/20th of the piece’s total weight. Having the gold mechanically bonded to the base layer means that it won’t tarnish or rub off in the same way that gold plated jewellery often does.
