In honour of International Women's Day and Mother's Day being celebrated this week, we asked you to tell us about the strong women in your lives and how they make a difference.

We were really blown away by the responses. Some stories made us laugh, some broke our hearts but all of them were utterly heartwarming. It's clear that so many of us have gone through some tough times over the last year and that we have appreciated the strong and caring women in our lives more than ever before.

Each story you shared with us was such a joy to read and we loved that our platform was used to show an outpouring of love and gratitude for the many, many wonderful women out there.

We loved a story from one of our Seoidín community members whose mother had helped support her as she went through a tough year in college. She said

We think that's among the greatest of gifts a mother can give.

We read many lockdown related stories, including some new mums who had given birth like super heros during a global pandemic. The strength and courage that they have shown has been a real inspiration to our little community.

We also read of some illnesses that some have sadly suffered over the last year and our hearts break for those affected. But the main focus of each and every comment was how brave, strong and inspirational each of these women are. Their ability to stay positive and keep their heads up is just truly incredible.

One of the most powerful comments we read was from a woman who sadly lost her mother this year. She told us of a friend of hers who had been such a great support to her, saying

This sentiment struck a chord with us here at Seoidín as we are a female lead, Irish business and we know from experience that sometimes your friends and colleagues are just as highly cherished as your family.

We want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who got involved. We are so thrilled to have so many inspiring women, part of our gorgeous Seoidín community.
